Dance for Kindness is an international event which happens every year. This year the school was proud to be part of it for the very first time! The aim of Dance for Kindness is to spread the message of kindness and compassion across the globe. The dance was performed as a flashmob across the globe by over 100 groups in November, including Year 4 across both school sites!
Madrono and Wisteria class came together to practice the dance in secret for 2 weeks, hoping that the rest of the school wouldn't notice! We then surprised staff, children and parents with our flashmob, performing it three times during the week, across both school sites.
We also handed out kindness cards so that our audiences had something to remember the dance by. We hoped the message on the card would encourage whoever received it do something kind for someone else that day, spreading the ripple of kindness around the school.
'When we were doing the dance in the studio, it just felt like little moves...when we actually did the flashmob, it felt like we were part of something bigger. We were helping to change the world!' (Year 4 pupil)
'I was part of my class when we were dancing, I felt happy....I was proud of my class.' (Year 4 pupil)
And here is the film of our Dance For Kindness!
