What makes Willow Class feel safe and secure?
In Willow Class we worked in small groups discussing what 'greed' is. During these discussions the children began to realise that 'greed' is often having too much of something. If we were to take away some of these things, what are our basic needs? What things do we see as priority to make us feel safe and secure?
The children drew pictures and wrote about the things they feel they need in their safe and secure places.

Our Classroom Buddy's.
During our trip to Finland we saw how each child has a 'buddy' that they meet with, regularly, to support one another in completing a piece of work. This buddy system is a great support for boosting the younger children's confidence as well as giving the older children responsibility. It is very much treasured and valued by the children and staff in Rastaala school. We decided to implement this back at Dunkirk Primary with children in Willow and Cedar classes.
