Mrs. Saleha Tariq visited Dunkirk Primary School (U.K) Dec, 2014
Dunkirk Primary School had the pleasure of hosting a visit from Mrs Saleha Tariq from the Lahore Lyceum, Lahore in Pakistan.
In the photographs, Miss Saleha can be seen working alongside the children of Cedar Class (Year 5) where she led several sessions on the meaning of 'power'. The class discussed the different meanings of power - physical strength (linked to PE), political power (linked to citizenship) and electrical power (linked to science). With regards to electrical power, Cedar Class created their own electricity power station and racing track by building circuits using components like cells, wires, bulbs, bulb-holders and crocodile clips. Miss Saleha took Cedar Class on a tour of the local area in order to conduct research on the use of electrical power in our community. She then compared the different uses of power in Pakistan; particularly with 'load-shedding', the regular power cuts that are part of daily life in Lahore.
