All the link schools visit Dunkirk.
All the Coordinators from each school gathered together at Dunkirk Primary for a final evaluation meeting. They looked at what has been achieved over the past two years and what the impact has been. It was concluded that this partnership has been hugely successful and the pupils, staff and communities of all the schools have a much better awareness of each other, their countries, culture and ways of working. All the schools intend to keep in touch and Finland and UK are to apply for another grant to enable more staff and children to travel.
The Dunkirk Ambassadors led an assembly at both school campuses, in which they shared their reflections from their amazing experience of The Pupil Camp. They showed some photos and explained about their highlights of the visit.
'The Man Who Planted Trees' film was shared with the visitors and all the pupils at Dunkirk. This film showed the process and outcome of the amazing collaboration between the pupils at Abbey Campus and our link school in Italy.
Cedar Class held an 'English Tea Party' for our visitors, where food was brought in from all over the world.
Oak Class made bread with the visitors, but starting right from the beginning with grain, then grinding it into flour and kneading the dough and finally baking it in our Cob Oven on the school Discovery Garden.
The visitors enjoyed their visit and have gone away with many interesting reflections of life in a UK school.
