What a success....Pupil Camp in Helsinki is over...but the memories live on.
February 11th 2014 saw the arrival of staff and pupils from the UK, Italy and Rome to Espoo in Finland. Teachers from the Rastaalan School were there to meet them and took them to the Velskola Camp in the beautiful countryside of Espoo. This would be their home for the next 4 days.
Each morning the visitors travelled to Rastaalan School where they joined the children and staff from the school to work on the new Big Question....
"What Kind of a World would you like to Live in?"
At the school the question was looked at in many different lessons across the whole curriculum. All the children began to think about the changes they would like to see in the world.
In the evenings at the Camp, they looked in more detail at what small actions they would like to make personally and collectively inorder to make a Big Change.
Rastaalan School organised a range of wonderful activities for all the visitors including a sight seeing tour of Helsinki, Skiing and Skating on sports day, a visit to Haltia Nature Centre and a wonderful evening of music making with Ms Monna.
All the schools who visited Finland wish to say a massive thank you to Rastaalan School for organising this Pupil Camp so brilliantly. They have set the bench mark very high for our future collaborations.
THANK YOU RASTAALAN KOULU.
