Wooden flagpoles and multiculturalism
This project started already last year 2015. Harri and Mark had planned to take woodwork to the pupil of Dunkird School.
Mark has 28 first graders who got the possibility to make a flagpole out of wood. In Rastaala school Hanna Pölkki´s 3rd graders made similar poles. Ulla Pihlaja carried 28 pieces of flagpole in her suitcase when she was visiting Nottingham in April 2016. The pupils drew the flag of the country of their origin as well as the country that they live in. This project was a colourful one, because both classes are multicultural. It was clear that the children enjoyed using their hands.
